Delphi Automotive Pilot Study
Juarez, Mexico

Delphi, the world leader in mobile electronics, transportation components, and systems technology, houses facility assets in approximately 500 plants with a total area of approximately 75 million square feet. A pilot study of 4 buildings totaling 890,000 square feet in Juarez, Mexico, was undertaken to demonstrate the financial benefits that a facility asset management program would provide Delphi.

The pilot study provided accurate and objective analysis of the physical condition, maintenance requirements, life cycle cost, and financial analysis of investment options of major facility components. Our services included:

  • Training of DELPHI staff in data collection to support the inventory and condition assessment of DELPHI roofs in Mexico.
  • Collection of inventory and condition assessment data from a limited number of roof sections as part of the training.
  • Preparation of a report of findings using data from DELPHI pilot study sites.
The successful results of the pilot program prompted DELPHI Mexico to adopt the Vertex ® Roof Asset Management Program long term. Today DELPHI continues to collect their roof data and input it into the MACTEC FLG Vertex database. DELPHI has collected over four million square feet of roof data at more than 17 Mexico plants.
